"When I was a bachelor…"

Scanned from a fragile old Mother Goose book I've had since about 1956. No date or publisher shows on the pages I have left. It was the sort of thing that came (in those days) from a five and dime, or a grocery store.

Wheelbarrow in The Fields of Evermore

Knights of Badassdom has a wheelbarrow, to show setting-up the site, moving in to "Evermore," and to show mundanity (modern wheelbarrow in a medieval fantasy setting).



This movie, by the way, is not the light comedy that the trailers make it out to be. There is comic relief, because it's needed. Don't watch it with very young or squeamish people. But the funny stuff is fun, for anyone who's been involved in LARP situations.

Wild cactus in Austin

Austin, 2011:

This one didn't seem to be planted, or art. The wheelbarrow's handles were broken, and I suspect it had been sitting there since a yard cleanup years ago, in which little cactus had been thrown in there to get rid of it.

It was out in the back with junk, but had turned itself to art, gradually, over the years.

Rooftop garden in Lisbon

Our "secret spot" at the local school. It's a terrace, on the garage, where the staff does a vegetable garden. I bet any of the school kids knows about it. It's interesting to look at the children at school while being here

On a postcard mailed in 1924:

This arrived in the mail this week (mailed again 90 years after its first posting, but this time in an envelope), a gift from Lionel and Tessa in Rotterdam (sweet unschooling parents I met in 2012, and I got to visit in their home last summer).

The other side of the card caused some hunting for info about the postmark. That's not about wheelbarrows though, and is documented here: Surprise gift

"Barrow with Cupid" is its name

"Barrow with Cupid" is its name at the site where it lives, Garden Services.com, but it seems "Cupid with Barrow" would have been a better designation.
